Celebrating 10 Years + a KitchenAid Giveaway!
This week marks 10 years of Completely Delicious!
10 years ago I was a secretary with a not-so-secret baking obsession, and somehow I ended up here— I share my most-loved recipes online and so many of you come to read and make them! I’m still just a home baker at heart, but now thanks to this website I’ve also added photographer, writer, creator, social media virtuoso, and boss lady to the resume.
It’s a job I never dreamed I’d have and I wouldn’t trade it for any other career out there. As a huge thank you to all of my readers— because I wouldn’t be here without YOU— I’m giving away a KitchenAid stand mixer. Read on for details! Update: giveaway is now closed.
Giveaway
One lucky reader will win a KitchenAid 5-quart Design Series Stand Mixer with glass bowl, in the color of your choice! And because I couldn’t use my KitchenAid without it, I’m also throwing in a flex-head beater attachment. This giveaway is in no way sponsored, just a little gift from me to you. My mixer is my favorite tool in the kitchen!

My favorite thing to bake is, has, and probably always will be chocolate chip cookies. That was the first thing my mom taught me as to bake as a child, and we always made the recipe on the back of the Nestle Toll House chocolate chip bag. Ever since I started reading baking blogs, I’ve seen so many variations and methods. I love trying them out.
Chocolate chip cookies was the first recipe my mom taught me too!

I know! Man, how time flies.
My favorite thing to bake is Pineapple Upside down cake. I have a recipe card in Momma’s handwriting that must 70 years old. I thought that I had it memorized but made it this past week without reviewing the recipe and messed it up. It is edible but not like usual. It could be that I need a new mixer.
I love that you have such a tie to your mother’s recipe. It makes the desserts and occasions where you share them all the more special!
Happy Anniversary! 10 years is very impressive. My favorite thing to bake is a cake. Big cakes, small cakes, cupcakes – if it’s cake, I love it!! 🙂

It’s been too long since I’ve made black and white cookies. And you’re right, they do have a great “wow” factor!
My favorite thing to bake is pie. The first one I ever made from scratch was cherry. Although the dough is time consuming I love the process!
Yes, time consuming. But so worth it I think! 🙂
My fave thing to bake is cheesecake.
There’s something about baking cakes I love. Making the cakes, then the frosting, then assembling, then decorating, I love the whole process. I actually didn’t try baking a cake from scratch (as opposed to from the boxed mixes) until I found your site! The first from-scratch cake I ever made was your decadent chocolate raspberry cake. I haven’t made a boxed cake since! Also, when persimmon season rolls around, you have to try the James Beard persimmon bread. I can eat the batter by itself! (And I’m not even really a persimmon person!) So glad I found your site so many years ago. It was through a search for chocolate buttercream that I originally found it. Some of our family faves now are the mile high Apple pie, burnt sugar cake, and banana bread with the cinnamon sugar topping.
Hi Chelsea! This comment for real made me cry. Feedback like this is one of the reasons I’m still here! I’m so happy to hear that you’ve enjoyed so many of my recipes, and I thank you so much for taking the time to tell me. 🙂

I love baking bread – I find that kneading the dough by hand is so very therapeutic. I began baking bread when I was 13 in response to a male classmate who bragged he baked bread with his mother every Saturday. After I perfected my bread baking, I found out all he did was out the prepared dough in the oven for his Mom! But it got me started on what has become one of my favorite things, even 57 years later…
Ha, love that story! Thanks Cynthia!

I’m going to prove to him how wrong he is. I really hope I win. Not only to prove to him he’s wrong. But so I can finally have a mixer that works better than the rest.

Homemade cookies!
We absolutely love this Ninja! It’s large and able to cook a lot of food, which is nice because it acts as a second oven when needed! The options are endless with this appliance! We use it daily as a toaster oven (it replaced the smaller one in the photo) and it’s really efficient – you select the cycle you want to use (fry/toast/bake/etc) and for toast, you select the number of slices – the shade level of the toast – and what rack-level you are toasting on, it’s pretty neat, contact them at https://nuwave-oven.pissedconsumer.com/customer-service.html
