    RE Creaming: “In order to achieve this, you need a stand mixer fitted with a paddle attachment. Unfortunately, no other kitchen appliance (hand-held mixer, food processor) will do it right.” oh please! who told you that! and why do you believe it? I am 75 yrs old btw, yup and we had home ec. in high school back in the olden days..and guess what.. i’ve NEVER had a stand mixer… seems like we learned to cream with a wooden spoon!! and life goes on.

    I am not sure my grandmother ever had an electric mixer period~ and she of course cooked up a storm baked everything you could imagine and it was all delic. (i even remember her making angel food cakes with one of those old timey spoons made of wire -to whip the whites!) oh well….. life goes on and things change, and things stay the same. = D

      Yes, you can of course use a little elbow grease! I’ve done it from time to time myself with successful results. What I stated in my post is that no other appliance will do. Hand held mixers just throw the batter around and a food processor just blends it up. No “creaming” with either of those. If you’re going to use an appliance, a stand mixer is the only way to go!
