Coffee beans

Liquid coffee is used in many of my recipes, particularly chocolate cakes, as a flavor enhancer. It does not make the finished baked good taste at all like coffee! It actually somehow makes chocolate things taste even more chocolaty and delicious.

If you aren’t a coffee drinker, keep instant coffee granules in your pantry, or pick up a fresh cup from your local coffee shop. You can also substitute with water, though I do not recommend it.
