Things may have been a little more quiet on this blog, but they certainly haven’t been quiet in my kitchen. I’ve been a bit busy baking up all sorts of things that I hope other people have enjoyed.

Cakes, cupcakes, tarts… it’s been fun.

These tiny treats were some of my favorite. I could munch on these all day long.

Last night my friend Christian, of Foodmode Catering, and I wrapped up a small dinner for some folks from Equality Utah. It was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work. I haven’t worked in a restaurant and I don’t have much experience when it comes to preparing dishes and plating courses for large groups of people.

But the evening was a success. Catering is fun!

One of the dessert options were these caramel cream puff towers I came up with, filled with both vanilla and caramel pastry creams, stacked on top of a caramel kahlua sauce. Very yummy and quite stunning.

So that’s what I’ve been up to. I’ve got quite the backlog of recipes I can’t wait to share with you, so stay tuned for more later this week!
