Today’s Sunday Spotlight recipe comes from Jessica of How Sweet It Is, plus I’m sharing some new finds and current faves.

Homemade Snickers from

This last week I finally hit my pre-pregnancy weight goal. Hooray! Only took me 2 years.

To celebrate I made these insane homemade snickers bars from How Sweet It Is and then ate the whole pan. Maybe you’ve seen this recipe dancing around on Pinterest? It’s been on my to-do list for months and I finally couldn’t hold out any longer. You probably shouldn’t either.

The recipe is quite simple, but there are several steps and you’ll be left with more than a few sticky dishes. But it’s totally worth it, I dare say these are better than the real thing!

I’m still trying to figure out what I want to do with my fun Sunday posts, so today I’m going to add some current happenings and stuff I’m thinking about. What do you think? I’d love to hear any feedback in the comments!

Fresh naan to go with the chicken tikka masala stewing away in the slow cooker. Naan recipe from @barbarabakes and @redstaryeast. #dinner

>> I made some chicken tikka masala one night this week and decided to go all out. This naan recipe from Barbara Bakes made the meal a home run.

>> I need a new pair of jeans, and one that will last longer than 6 months. Do you have any recommendations? I have a hard time spending big bucks on clothes, but maybe I need to get over it?

>> My little baby turns two in just a month. How did that happen? He’s currently obsessed with Winnie the Pooh and Jungle Book, or as he likes to call it “Bungle Guck”.

>> I am completely obsessed with this beautiful short video. And now I have a serious hankering to bake some cream puffs.

>> Less than one week until we head to Mexico!!! I so need a vacation!

>> Favorite recipes I’ve seen this week— I’m crushing on this gorgeous no-bake dessert from Bakers Royale, I absolutely love these fun sandwiches made with Nutella and Peeps from Climbing Grier Mountain, and I want to stuff my face with this spring veggie pizza with burrata cheese from Half Baked Harvest.

>> Lastly, I’m giving away a copy of I Am Baker’s new cookbook, “Surprise-Inside Cakes”. Don’t forget to enter! Find the giveaway here.

Happy Sunday, friends!

    Happy Sunday Morning Annalise!
It’s bright and sunny in Wisconsin today and should finally give hope of Spring as the temps are supposed to reach the mid-fifties—the birds are certainly celebrating. I enjoy the personal touch of your posts and the great pictures of some of your simple joys. Keep it up!
I’ve been wanting to try naan for awhile so thanks for the push.
Congrats on the weight loss–I’ve been having some success on that front as well so I think I’ll pass on making the scrumptious looking Snickers bars (although cream puffs are on my learn to do list and those sound even more dangerous).
    Have a good week!

Congratulations on your weight loss! My favorite jeans are Eddie Bauer. I own several pairs and they have lasted years without fading or wearing out. Depending on your body shape, they come in truly straight, slightly curvy, and curvy. They also come in different lengths, washes, and cuts. Best of all, they are affordable. :)

  3. I’m looking for a great chicken tikka masala recipe. You’ll have to share it soon. So glad you enjoyed the bread. Thanks for the shout out. Your little angel just gets cuter and cuter.

Congrats on hitting your weight loss goal! I actually buy most of my jeans from American Eagle…they last a long time, fit well, and are generally less than $40 a pair. Win/win. ;-)

Thanks Emily! Most of the jeans I have now are currently from AE, and while I do like the price, mine seem to wear out waaaay too fast. Love their skinnies, though!

  5. Those snickers bars look INSANE. And Bungle Guck is my favorite thing ever…

  6. oh wow!! These look good! Snickers are my favorite junk food :)

  7. I love J brand jeans. I was wearing gap ones before and my sister convinced me to make the swap. I’ll never go back. Not only are they so much more comfy, they are way more flattering. I get them off piperlime when there’s 20 or 30% off. Good luck!

Your baby is the winner on this beautiful Sunday!!! I love the recipes and intend to try them, but your son’s photos make my day!!!
