Halloween Candy Bark
Use up your leftover candy with this fun Halloween candy bark!
Whether you want to make a fun festive treat for a Halloween party, or you have a bunch of leftover candy you want to get rid of, this Halloween candy bark is perfect. It’s a cinch to put together— just chopped up candy bars and other candy scattered on melted chocolate with a simple white chocolate drizzle on top.
And the best thing about this recipe is that you can use whatever chocolate candy you have! I used Reese’s peanut butter cups, Snickers, Kit Kats, M&Ms, and Whoppers, but feel free to change it up with whatever candy you happen to have on hand.
Ingredients You’ll Need
- Bittersweet chocolate
- White chocolate
- Honey roasted peanuts
- Chopped candy bars such as Reese’s peanut butter cups, Kit Kat, Snickers, etc
- M&Ms or Reese’s pieces
- Candy corn
How to Melt Chocolate
While this is one of the easiest recipes to make, I don’t want you to scorch and ruin your chocolate! That would be very sad. Here’s how to melt chocolate properly:
On the stove— Add chocolate to a bowl and set it over a small saucepan filled with an inch or so of water (you can also use a double boiler). Set over medium low heat and stir chocolate as it melts. Remove it from heat when almost all of the chocolate is melted. Stir until it’s completely melted and smooth.
In the microwave— Add chocolate to a microwavable bowl and heat in 30 second intervals, stirring after each. You should only need to heat chocolate for about 90 seconds total. When almost all of the chocolate is melted, don’t microwave it anymore, instead keep stirring until it’s completely melted and smooth.
Removing chocolate when it’s almost melted but a few lumps remain keeps the chocolate from getting to hot and scorching. Scorched chocolate siezes up and thickens, and unfortunately it cannot be reversed.
How to Assemble Halloween Candy Bark
- Prepare toppings. Decide which toppings you’d like to use and chop up candy bars as needed.
- Melt white and dark chocolate. Melt chocolates separately in a double boiler or in the microwave, stirring often and heating until a few small pieces of chocolate remain. Keep stirring until chocolate is completely smooth.
- Make chocolate base. Spread dark chocolate into a thin layer on a sheet pan lined with parchment or wax paper.
- Add toppings and drizzle. Add chopped candy bars, candies, and peanuts. Drizzle with melted white chocolate.
- Cool completely. Refrigerate until firm, about 1 hour.
- Break into pieces. Use a knife or your hands to break candy bark into pieces. Store at room temperature.

Notes
Great idea! I can’t buy my Halloween candy even one day early or I won’t stop eating it.
You can always bring your candy to a Halloween candy buy back eyent. Sorry, that was my work “kate” talking. I think you could share with me if you don’t want to eat it all yourself. 😉
Cool idea though, I’ll have to try it.
Absolutely love this idea! Though I don’t usually have a problem finishing Halloween candy off myself 🙂
This is my favorite way to use up the leftover candy!! (and thanks for the link love!)
I’ve honestly never made candy bark. I should really give it a try this year. Those PB cups really make it looks so tempting! Great recipe!
It’s like the easiest thing EVER! You gotta try it. 🙂
Love this idea! Rationing was never my strong point, and I guarantee that I’d be tempted to eat bite after bite of this bark if it was in my house.
