Quarter Three, Weeks Nine and Ten

This week is my last week of classes for this quarter, and let me tell you, I am ready. It’s been a challenging quarter, what with getting married in the middle of it and all. Still, it’s been a good experience and I’m glad I didn’t take the quarter off, although I was very tempted. My Intro to Baking class has taught me a lot and at the same time, been a lot of fun. My Product and Purchasing class was a little more challenging, not in the sense that it was difficult but in that I had a hard time finding it relevant. I kind of feel like it was a waste of a whole lot of money, but maybe someday I’ll be grateful for it.

Last Thursday was our baking practical final exam. It was slightly stressful, mostly because none of the recipes seemed to be good, but we got creative and as a team still managed to pull off an A. Here are some pictures:

You may be looking at some of these items and thinking that it all seems far too easy for a baking final. Well, it is an introductory class so obviously we had to cover the basics. Also, the grading was fairly strict. For example, all of our rolls and cookies had to weigh exactly the same and our presentation was very important. All that being said, I’m very excited to move onto more advanced classes and learn how to make all sorts of new and exciting delicious things.
